Freedom Through Connection

Info:

Two figures emerge from the darkness. Their bare physicality makes them timeless representatives of human existence. Between them is a flowing cloth, a fabric like water, like a connection. You can't really see it, but you can feel it. The larger figure on the right does not hold the fabric, she carries it, lets it flow. Her hand is outstretched, her gaze is calm, as if she already understands that connection is not possession. The smaller figure on the left reaches for it tentatively. Her hands are hesitant, as if testing whether the ribbon will hold her or engulf her, whether it will pull her down or catch her. Her face shows longing.
My picture shows a silent protest for connection and humanity. It tells of relationship without merging. Of passing on without loss. Of the quiet moment when someone says—not with words, but with an open, outstretched hand: I'm not holding you tight, but I'm not letting you fall either.
