Above the mountains

Info:

In a society where self-optimization is slowly becoming the highest good, the facets of the feeling of freedom are also becoming increasingly diverse. Many stand out from the homogeneous mass of society and find their personal freedom.

For me, there is great freedom in the mountains. There I experience absolute silence and realize how irrelevant our actions are in the infinity of time. The massive, bare rock faces and huge mountain ranges, shaped over billions of years by the passage of time, suggest our own transience and the irrelevance of humanity.

It is precisely this realization—that no matter what we do, it will probably be forgotten over time—that makes me feel free. And when you linger at the end of a long hike on a summit above the mountains, on the roof of our world, you feel that everything is easier.
