Is that democracy or can it go?

In my work “Ist das Demokratie oder kann das weg?” (Is that democracy or can it go?), I created a papier-mâché sculpture measuring approximately 40 centimeters. It depicts Friedrich Merz in caricature form.

Due to my general interest in politics and my passion for creative work, I was determined to contribute to the exhibition with my own piece. With this work, I want to criticize Friedrich Merz's sometimes strongly anti-democratic statements in particular. Without artistic projects and public criticism, there is a danger that such statements will become normalized. This work is intended to counteract precisely that.
