Human Material

“Human Material” questions the logic of the military, conscription, and right-wing politics, in which people are reduced to their usefulness. Uniformity replaces individuality, obedience becomes a prerequisite for the right to exist. The work criticizes a system that uses bodies but outsources humanity. Hearts are separated, controlled, and made available as interchangeable material. Human beings do not count as sentient beings, but as resources for national and ideological purposes. The image poses the provocative question of how much humanity a system that only knows function can endure.
