Choir singing

We, 10 girls from the upper school, have come together to sing. You will hear us perform “Gabriellas sång” by Stefan Nilsson (music) and Py Bäckman (lyrics) in an arrangement for women's choir and piano by Lars Wallenäs. The piece is from the film “Så som i himmelen” (2004), which translates as “As It Is in Heaven,” and is sung in the film by a woman in a choir who has been abused by her husband, about her journey to freedom, dignity, and self-love. The singer finds her own voice and has the courage to start afresh and live truthfully. “Now my life belongs only to me, for this time here on earth. My longing leads me here, where I found what I was missing so much. And yet I chose this path, my trust far beyond words. What I saw was a little piece of heaven, so far away from me. I want to feel that I am alive all the time I have! (...)”
