Taking a stand, seeking dialogue, and resolutely opposing antisemitism: From October 25 to 31, 2026, Würzburg will join forces for a very special initiative. Würzburg’s three universities (THWS, JMU, and HfM), cultural institutions, and civil society organizations are jointly organizing the project week “Würzburg Against Anti-Semitism.” At the heart of it all as a co-initiator is the volunteer-run organization pics4peace e.V., which played a key role in planning the action week and is now bringing it to life digitally.
Over the course of a week, the city’s residents and university community can look forward to a diverse program of lectures, workshops, exhibitions, panel discussions, and concerts. The initiative builds on the nationwide education and action weeks, which in 2026 will focus on the university context.
Right in the thick of it: pics4peace brings the action week to life digitally
To ensure that the debates and ideas have an impact far beyond the event venues, pics4peace is providing comprehensive digital support. As a creative democracy initiative, the association brings the content right to where young people are:
Social media: On Instagram (@_pics4peace_), we capture the mood, share insights, and publish posts in direct collaboration with partner organizations.

Interviews & On-Camera Statements: We invite speakers, participants, and guests to appear on camera to capture compelling voices and perspectives.
Live Documentation in the Web Diary: On pics4peace.de, we update the program daily and follow the week step by step.
The Film of the Week: After the event, the collected moments will be compiled into a short film that can also be used in future educational initiatives.
Almost all events during the action week are free of charge. Most events are open to anyone interested; where space is limited, a brief advance registration ensures access.

About pics4peace e.V. 
The creative democracy initiative pics4peace e.V. was founded in Würzburg in 2017 and works on a volunteer basis to promote peace, social cohesion, and the preservation of democracy. To counteract political apathy, the organization empowers young people to give voice to their concerns through creative and artistic forms of expression—such as photography, art, and digital formats. As a bridge-builder, pics4peace fosters connections between young people and decision-makers in politics and society. Through online and offline workshops as well as digital educational initiatives, the organization actively takes a stand against extremism, antisemitism, and exclusion.
