The Online Creative Competition 2019 of pics4peace e.V. on the topic "Europe" has been evaluated!
Here are the winners. Congratulations!!!
The first prize of EUR 500.00 goes to: the song "Leuchtsignal", submitted by Marcel Amthor, 26, from Würzburg.
- Marcel and his two musician friends, Frank and Jasmina, wrote this Rap song for a united Europe (Rapsong für ein geeintes Europa). With the song they wanted to invite especially young people to participate in the 2019 European elections. The three are convinced that everyone can do something to ensure peace in Europe. They appealed to everyone to work for more cohesion and for peace among themselves. Because in the end we are all equal as human beings.
The second prize of EUR 300.00 goes to: the picture "Peace on Earth"(Bild „Frieden auf Erden“) by Sagiroglu Beyza, 13, from Mannheim.
- Sagiroglu painted the earth as a heart. On this earth are people in all their diversity with the symbols of different religions, skin color, origin, age groups and type, as we experience them in Europe today - all hand in hand, all at peace with each other on this one world, united in the symbol of love. Sagiroglu reminds us with this picture to consider that it is not outward appearances that count, but the inner values that are important, no matter what a person looks like.
The third prize of EUR 200.00 goes to theDance Performance "Little Island", submitted by Jin Lee, 26, from Salzburg.
- Jin and a friend express with their Contemporary Dance Formation (zeitgenössische Tanzformation), the conflicts between nations, being torn back and forth, the questions "Where do I belong?", "Who belongs to me?". She knows that every country has had its history and therefore its enmities with other countries. But she emphasizes that in the end it depends on each individual, on you and me, whether you let it affect you or not. It is a matter, as on other continents, so also with us in Europe, that we approach each other, see over initial differences and get involved with each other step by step.
Of the participants from the 30plus Category, the Short Story "Coffee Cream and Fear" (Kurzgeschichte „Kaffeesahne und Angst“)by Sonja Weichand was chosen as the favorite.
- The author from Würzburg tells of a visit to a Café by a younger nurse with a patient entrusted to her care. Suddenly, memories from the Third Reich and the old lady's childhood come up, while at the next table a man is talking disrespectfully about the plight of refugees. Fear, justified or felt, is part of both conversations, yesterday as well as today in Europe.
Congratulations to you and thank you ALL for participating in the contest! Every contribution counts and is important.
ALL participants in the contest will receive a certificate of their participation in the contest for their commitment against extremism, for democracy and peace in Europe. Such a certificate is always good to use, also to attach to your CV when applying for a job!
The winning entries and some more will be included in our "pics4peace Video Review 2019", which will be released on YouTube in February 2020 at the latest.
