Workshop on "Political Photography" and "Photographic pics4peace - Together in Europe?!"

Kids between the age of 10 and 13 work on the topic "Political Photography" and "Photographic pics4peace - Together in Europe?!", so cool! How did it come about? The HSS had asked Anna and Pia to create a vacation workshop. While Anna focused on the many aspects of political photography over several days, Pia's workshop yesterday was about concretely working on topics that move young people and how they can create their photographic pics4peace.

Asking the right questions

How do I learn more about others and others? Which questions do I have to ask? Which questions will help me get closer to a concrete project outline. How do I weight what I know? How do I best convey my message in a picture? What means do I have at my disposal? How do I use them in the most meaningful way?

Developing a project outline

In dialog with each other, the kids pondered the questions surrounding their topic in several work steps, elicited creative ideas from their heads, and made small sketches, most of which consisted of a drawing, an arrangement for the subsequent photograph, or even a small text. Then it was time to get started.
Implementing the plan and photographing

In the kitchen, outdoors, under a tree, ... . Without people, with few or many. With handmade or written props..... There were no limits to the imagination.
Super results!

After three hours of intensive work, they all could be proud of their result!

Today it goes on. Anna shows the young artists how to edit their photos afterwards. We are looking forward to the final results and hope that some will also submit the photo they have created to the online competition of pics4peace.
